Join Vogue Williams and Joanne for a weekly chat with 100% honesty guaranteed.
My Therapist Ghosted Me is the result of Joanne’s therapist doing just that! Ignoring her calls, refusing to answer the door at the clinic, or speak to her after she’d tracked him down at Enfield crematorium as he scattered his Aunt’s ashes. Despite it all, it’s often said that friends give the best therapy so Vogue and Joanne have teamed up to do exactly that (alongside a generous helping of laughter as that too is said to be the best form of therapy). Together they will give 100% unqualified, unsubstantiated but up front and honest advice on the plethora of issues they and many others continue to grapple with.

There’s a story going around, that punk-pop sensation Avril Lavigne ISN’T who you think she is. That she was replaced at the start of her career by a look a-like. It’s an internet conspiracy theory which has been eating Joanne ALIVE, and she’s going to do something about it. In this 6-part series, Joanne immerses herself in a mind-bending world of fake celebrity deaths, doppelgangers, conspiracies in an effort to understand how this rumour started, and if there’s any truth to it.
Who Replaced Avril Lavigne? Joanne McNally Investigates is produced by What’s The Story Sounds – for BBC Sounds and CBC Podcasts.
Twelve months ago Joanne McNally was a comedian with a love of conspiracy theories. Now, she’s an intrepid investigative journalist who will stop at nothing to root out a story, and her latest assignment will thrust her into the world of international espionage, politics… and Furbys.
In her latest adventure, Joanne sets off to discover the truth, telling the story of the Furby, its rise to prominence, and the technology behind it.
Once again Joanne will be joined a cast of comedy friends including Joe Lycett, Roisin Conaty and the return of her sidekick Gearóid Farrelly, as well as new acquaintances and a dollop of newly acquired investigative pedigree.
Joanne will travel wherever the story takes her, phoning the US Pentagon and taking a trip to Menwith Hill – the UK’s secretive listening station in North Yorkshire. She’ll track down Furby collectors and people with some extraordinary personal anecdotes of what their Furbys could do, and she’ll even meet a real-life spy.
As the investigation evolves, Joanne asks what other devices might be spying on her – her phone, her smart speaker, and even TikTok? She’ll also unearth some remarkable stories of how global listening has caught out infidelity, exposed wrongdoing and even solved a murder.
Joanne McNally Investigates Did Furbys Spy on Us? is a What’s The Story Sounds production. It was commissioned by Louise Kattenhorn, Podcasts Commissioning Executive for BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds.
